1. Simple preparation of hole: machined holes are not needed, simple drilled hole is sufficient, main contact with the hole is at the grooved area.
2. Grooved pins are elastic: they absorb vibrations and are reusable (grooves do not damage holes)
3. Pins can be used for applications with pull our as well as rotational force applied
4. High shear resistance due to solid intersection
5. Installation can be done manually or automatically (moderate insertion forces, pins can be designed symmetrical, pins do not interlock)
